If you have a musculoskeletal issue, such as a bad back or neck or joint pain, you can see a physiotherapist at a GP Practice. They can assess your issue and decide on the most appropriate action to take. Our Physiotherapists can provide you with some self-management advice and, if needed, refer you on to the most appropriate service.
This means that you do not need to see your GP first, for them to then make a second physiotherapy appointment, as you can book straight in with the PCN First Contact Physiotherapists through your Practice’s reception staff.
Who is the service for?
- People aged 16 or over
- There are some medical criteria which will be checked when you contact your GP Practice.
This service is not suitable for:

How can I make an appointment?
Contact your GP Practice and ask for an appointment with the First Contact Physiotherapists. When you contact your GP Practice, the receptionist will ask you some questions to check that you meet the criteria for the service.
Remember, you do not need to see your GP for this service, you can go straight to the Physiotherapist.
